Fair
play.
Overlordai is a live game guidebook. Our mission is to help players get more out of the games they already own. That only works if the guide plays fair, so here is exactly what Overlord does and doesn't do.
What Overlord does
While your game is running, it watches your screen, the same view a person sitting beside you would have, and answers out loud when you ask. It also reads your game's save and settings files, without changing them, to know how far you've got. That's the whole mechanism.
What Overlord never does
- Read or write game memory, or attach to the game's process
- Inject code, DLLs, or hooks into the game
- Press keys, move the mouse, or automate any part of play
- Modify game files, saves, or configs
- Run in online multiplayer games: it checks each game when it launches and refuses the online multiplayer ones
Why this matters
Cheating means one of three things: changing the game, playing it for you, or getting an edge over another person. Overlord does none of them. Strategy guides have been sold alongside games for thirty years and nobody calls a guide cheating; this is that guide, read to you while you play.
Who it's for
The player who buys a game at full price, hits a wall, and would otherwise walk away from it. If you want to discover every secret on your own, play blind and enjoy it. Overlord is for the other run.
